iOS 26 launched last month with a massive redesign and Liquid Glass UI, which has received mixed reviews. While it’s undoubtedly fresher-looking than iOS’s previous UI, it certainly delivers on Windows Vista as well. Oh, and some people think it has too much transparency, which hinders usability.

Apple has reduced transparency since the first iOS 26 beta came out, so it’s less in the final release than the company initially planned. But if that’s still too much for you, the upcoming iOS 26.1 will help. In the latest beta of this release, which came out today, there’s a toggle that lets you control how much transparency you want in your life.

It’s not a slider, you just have to choose from two options. One is labeled “Clear” and is the default setting we all know and love (or not), while the other option is “Tinted”. This basically increases the opacity of otherwise transparent elements, and adds more contrast. It should really be a usability boon for all the liquid glass haters out there.

If you’re on the beta train, you can find this new toggle in Settings > Display & Brightness. It is available in both iOS and iPadOS betas, as well as macOS Tahoe 26.1. Hopefully the iOS/iPadOS 26.1 release will be finalized soon so everyone can take advantage of the new settings.
