Samsung started rolling out the update to One UI 8 based on Android 16 to Galaxy S23 devices around three weeks ago in late September. Everything was going well, until it wasn’t.
The rollout is currently paused, and it’s unclear when it will resume, so if you have a handset that’s part of that family and haven’t received the update yet, chances are you’ll be waiting longer than expected.

Samsung has not disclosed why it has taken this step. There don’t seem to be any widespread reports of major problems from people who installed the update.
That said, the company definitely found something that needed fixing and decided to hold off on the rollout out of an abundance of caution. Hopefully he manages to fix whatever issues there were quickly and the rollout can resume sooner rather than later. We’ll keep you posted.
