Qualcomm has taken the wraps off its latest midrange chipset – the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. It brings a few upgrades over the 6s Gen 3, such as an FHD+ 144Hz display, improved CPU and GPU performance with support for mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 (SM6435-AA) is fab with a claimed 36% improved CPU and 59% faster GPU performance on Samsung’s 4nm process. The Kryo CPU has 4x performance cores at up to 2.4 GHz and 4x efficiency cores at 1.8GHz.
The GPU comes with HDR gaming support and OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP and Vulkan 1.1 support. It also integrates some Snapdragon Elite gaming features like Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and Game Quick Touch.

SD 6s Gen 4 also supports up to 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM @ 3200MHz and UFS 3.1 storage. On the camera side, the new chip is equipped with a Qualcomm Spectra ISP, which supports a 200MP sensor and 2K video recording at 30fps. You also get Snapdragon Sound and Bluetooth 5.4 as well as Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ support.
