A few days ago a rumor from China claimed that the Oppo Find N5 will launch there before the end of March. The device is likely to be sold internationally as the OnePlus Open 2 as the original OnePlus Open from last year was the rebranded Oppo Find N3 (Oppo is dropping the “4” due to tetraphobia).
At the time we noted that it was unclear how soon the Open 2 would follow after the launch of the N5, and today a tipster over at X sheds some light on just this fact – and it’s not good news.

As you can see, the OnePlus Open 2 is said to arrive internationally only in the second half of 2025, so July at the earliest. Since Snapdragon 8 Elite is rumored to use the chipset, this launch timeline would mean that it will only be on the market for a few short months (or less) before the next flagship Snapdragon chip is announced, possibly in October.

So, with its potential flagship prices, the Open 2 will only have the current flagship chip for a while, which is, to put it mildly, less than ideal. Then again, this is just an unconfirmed rumor, so maybe things will turn out differently. We will have to wait and see.
