HARIDWAR: The body of a 23-year-old nurse from Haridwar’s Jamalpur village was found inside a locked toilet at a private hospital in the district on Thursday. The father of the nurse, Saloni Singh, alleged she was murdered and accused the hospital administration of trying to “mislead them.”
On Friday, police registered a murder case against unknown persons based on a complaint from Singh’s parents. SHO SIDCUL police station Manohar Singh Bhandari said, “Saloni was employed in the ICU at Metro Hospital. She went missing during duty hours two days ago and was later found dead inside the toilet. The hospital administration said the door was locked from the inside, and they found her inside after it was unlocked.”
He added that there were no indications of suicide or any wounds on her body. The cause of her death will be determined after a post-mortem exam, he further said. A case was registered under BNS Section 103 (murder), and further investigation is underway, added the SHO. The nurse’s father, Pooran Singh, said, “She was murdered, and we want justice.”
