Delayed exemptions in Samsung’s plans for 2500, but its successor is developing on the schedule – it is becoming increasingly possible that Samsung will use the Exynos 2600 for the Galaxy S26 series.
The latest report comes from a trusted @JukanlosreveWho writes “Exynos 2600 is definitely back and it will be used in S26. But the chip volume is so limited that it will be similar to that of the Exynos 990 situation.”
The Exynos 2600 will be fabricated on Samsung SF2, which is the 2NM gate (GAA) node surrounding. Here is a timeline of Samsung’s nodes from trendforce:
Samsung’s Semiconductor Nodes’ WayMap
The SF2 uses the GAA tech of the third pay generation and promises a 12% higher performance, 25% better power efficiency and a 5% reduction in the chip area compared to SF3 (3 Nm nodes that will be used for the potential exemenous 2500).
We are not sure what @Jukanlosreve Mean by “Exynos 990 System”. The chip was used in the Galaxy S20 and the notes sold in most regions except the US, Canada and China. It was a situation with “Qualcomm has patent and expensive lawyers” than one of the limited supply. And the yield from the SF2 node is obviously very good (the Trendforce recorded the “expected initial yield of more than 30%”).
However, to meet the demand for the construction of the Galaxy S26 series, Exynos 2600 should go into large quantities of this year’s final quarter – the new flagships will debut in late January or early February.
