Sony announced the Xperia 1 VI in May last year, so we are quite close to the unveiling of its successor, Xperia 1 VII. This has now been largely certified in Taiwan by the NCC, a process that has revealed live images below the device.

The phone will apparently be offered in at least three colorways – Black, “Navy Green” (it seems that machine translation has failed here) and purple for the first time after Xperia 1 IV. Like the leaked CAD-based randers at the earliest of this month, the phone looks surprisingly (at least for Sony, at least) its predecessor.

Interestingly, the previous rumor claimed that all three rear cameras would have exemor T -sensors, but Experia 1 VI – A52MP (48MP effective) main camera, 12MP ultravide and 12MP telephoto would be the same accurate sensor size and resolution.

No other specs have been leaked yet, but of course we expect to see the Snapdragon 8 Elite Show played.
