MSI has announced new models in its paw range of Windows-based handheld gaming consoles. At this time, the company does not leave any potter and is starting models with both Intel and AMD chips.
Uncontrolled Chloe A8 AI+ A2 VM and its white version, Chloe A8 AI+ Polar Tempest Edition A2 VM (from now on for everyone’s sanity, is only known as A8 AI+), with Intel Chip. A8 AI+ actually uses the same Intel Core Ultra 7 258V that was used on the 2024 Claw 7 AI+ model, with the same 32GB LPDDR 5X 8533 MHz on-package memory with 1 TB PCI Jane 4X4 NVM M.2 SSD.
The new model gets an 8-inch 1920×1200 resolution, 120 Hz IPS-level display with VRR support. The display has 100% SRGB coverage and 500 net brightness. The device uses the Halle Effect analog sticks and triggers, which last longer. There are also dual thunderbolt 4 ports with microSD slots. Finally, the battery has now bumped up to 80Wh and promises a 4+ hour gameplay.
The Polar Tempest Edition includes 2 TB storage and a shiny UV coating for its white paint. Meanwhile, the Standard A8 will have an alternative super pack variant that will bundle additional accessories such as travel case, Tempered Glass Screen Protector, L NY Nard, Docking Station and 100W PD Charger instead of 65 W.
Then there is Chloe A8 BZ2em, which should be more interesting for most people. It features AMD Raizen Z2 Extreme Processor with Raden Graphics. It has 24GB LPDDR 5X 8000 MHz dual-channel memory and has 1 TB SSD on the standard Intel model. The remaining specs are also similar to the standard Intel model.
Prices and availability information was yet to be announced at the time of writing.
