A few weeks ago we took a look at the CMF Buds 2 Plus, a premium model in the new budget lineup of Audio deo products. Today, we are reviewing the buds 2, which is a medium model in the 2 series of buds.

CMF Buds 2 Review

The buds come on 2/59/₤ 39 or only INR 2,699. For the price, you get most of the plus model features but with some cutbacks on the board. You get a little smaller driver, a little less rated ANC, a few hours less battery life and LDAC. In this review, we will explore if it is worth saving some money and the difference for this model or the plus model is not worth it.

Conduct

The composition of CMF buds 2 is almost the same as the buds 2 plus. There are similar dimensions for both cases but the buds are finished on 2 cases, the buds are a little more plastic than the soft touch plastic on the 2 plus case.

The buds also get a clear plastic rotting dial on the ID range compared to the aluminum dial found on the plus. However, the rotation is once again pure decoration until you choose to use it as a fidget spinner.

Earbuds are functionally similar to the design and dimensions. This means that they are still very small and relaxed with a comfortable fit, but also that they come with the same cheap-good ear tips of the plus model.

The low cost of buds 2 makes this a bit less, but the same priced OnePlus Nord buds have many nice tips in 3 pro. These tips not only look nice, but also do not provide the right screws. The tips of the ear simply slide inside your ear and with a few friction and you do not get a satisfactory seal with them.

Software

CMF buds 2 buds 2 plus and none of the same earbuds work with X app. Most features are the same between two buds 2 models so I will only focus on the differences here.

CMF Buds 2 Review

There are only three changes compared to everything described in the buds 2 plus reviews. The buds have DRACK OPT PTIs, which presets the default lt eq for these earbuds. According to the support page of anything, the OPT pattio “uses an advanced measurement based improvement technique to remove any unwanted echo or sound color to maximize the sound display of buds.” There was no request for additional details about the internal operation of the facility at the time of writing.

There is also a lack of support for the personal sound facility found on the Plus model in buds 2, which plays a series of tones to allow you to customize the sound at your hearing. I have already mentioned my concerns plus reviews with this feature and its absence is not a major loss here.

The final difference is the lack of LDAC, which means that there is no alternative to the X application for anything to switch between AAC and LDAC. Other than that, the experience of Software Fatware is the same for both better and worse.

Operation

Poetry

There is an 11mm PMI (polymethecrylimide) driver in Kaliyo 2 compared to the 12mm LCP driver found on the plus model. As mentioned earlier, there is no LDAC and therefore there is no Hi-Res support here. Instead, you get a diary-tuned audio deio, which can be customized using EQ.

CMF Buds 2 Review

Diff default lt Audio de tuning is not one million miles away from two models but here are some significant differences with no unexpected conclusions.

The buds are a little warm and basier than 2 sound buds 2 plus sounds. There is a more mid-bass hift on the top of the already powerful low-end on the plus. On the other end, the buds 2 lack some high-sparkle of the 2 plus model so that the sound is not overall bright.

The main difference was in the mid-ray. The buds have a surprisingly full-scalp mid-race in 2, making the sound better bolder and more balanced in the mixture. In comparison, the buds calm down with 2 plus bad wood.

CMF Buds 2 Review

The overall sound of buds 2 is still a bit bass-forward and it can get tired on some tracks with a strong bass line. If you like to hear a lot of different styles, it’s not even a very flexible sound. But most people will use it to listen to popular styles like POP P and for that, they work perfectly. In fact, I prefer the overall tuning of buds 2 on the buds 2 plus for music.

Speaking of tuning, the buds offer multiple EQ options on the side of the 2 default lt dack OPT PTI mode. However, switching to other presets causes an audible break in the voice and when you go back to the OPT PTI preset you listen to it again. The only exception to this is a custom preset.

It is likely that default uses different Audio deo processing than the rest of the lt optio and custom presets. Instead, it seems that other presets do not use much process. Compared to the full and more space OUND ptio preset, other EQ presets are more crowded with small soundstages. This was not a plus model, where all presets received the same treatment.

This means that if you use other presets, even if you choose their tuning, you do not have the same experience as a TE PTI preset. Whenever you switch back and forth between OPT pattio/custom presets and other presets, half-second silence more annoying, which comes with an intense transient increase in volume before the sound is stagnant.

The good thing is that the custom preset is based on the process of the OPT pattio preset, so you can customize the sound as the entire process is available for OPT PTI preset. The bad thing is that anything weird circular 3-band EQ is as terrible as it has always been.

Microphone

Like a plus model, the performance of the microphone in buds 2 is good. The voices seem clear and when the sound now calms down and then it is not very noticeable or distracting.

Voice revocation

There is a cancellation of sound in buds 2. You get good suppression in low frequencies but some high-frequency noise can be attributed to cheap ear tips that create incomplete seals. Nevertheless, for most use cases on things like public transport, the performance of ANC is good enough.

Unfortunately, transparency exhibition was not great. The sound is natural but quiet and at that point you can’t even say whether the mode is enabled. This means that if you have anything to play, it is just to sink the ambient voice coming by speakers, beating the purpose of the mode.

B Battery Terry Life

The battery life promised by buds 2 during continuous playback with ANC disabled is 13.5 hours. In my test, I got the use of 13 hours and 17 minutes, which is very impressive.

CMF Buds 2 Review

Even 4 hours of playback after a 10 -minute charge and I managed to get 4 hours and 25 minutes, which is also impressive.

End

The buds are very close to 2 buds 2 we had previously reviewed and I will request you to read that review as they go in many more detail.

I was expecting the conclusion of buds 2 that the plus would get a plus model considering how small the price difference is. However, it ended the other way around and I don’t see much point in choosing the plus model on it.

CMF Buds 2 Review

The buds get a lot of power of the 2 plus model, including rest, battery life, microphone exhibition and respectful ANC for prices. Both also have a clean -looking Software Fatware and Hardware Design. However, buds 2 are tuned a little better, which has made them more enjoyable to hear and again proved that having a better codex is not automatically better.

Finally, CMF buds come on top of 2 and are strong contenders for the best wireless earbuds in this price range.
