For a while now, we’ve been hearing rumors about what Samsung will call the successor to the Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S26 Pro. So many rumours, in fact, that it seemed like too much of a given.
Now a new rumor claims the exact opposite: there is no Galaxy S26 Pro, the successor to the Galaxy S25 will be called the Galaxy S26. And it will launch alongside Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra as always.

For a while, the Galaxy S26 Edge was rumored to replace the Galaxy S26+, which was allegedly cancelled, but recently we heard that it’s actually the other way around – the Galaxy S26 Edge has been canceled due to its predecessor’s disappointing sales numbers, and the S26+ is alive and well along with the other two members of the family.
We’re not sure what to make of all these conflicting rumors – people could just be making stuff up, of course, but there’s also a chance that all this confusion is coming from Samsung itself. It may have changed hands a few times in the development of its upcoming flagship smartphone series, but if true, it paints a strange picture of a company that isn’t quite sure what to do. If this is accurate, and it is definitely a big one IfIt’s not a good look.
The Galaxy S26 will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2600 SoC in many markets, just like the S26+. Its cameras will remain unchanged from the S25, so the main upgrade in the S26 will be a 4,300 mAh battery (up from 4,000 mAh on its predecessor).
