US Amazon’s drone delivery service includes new categories of items including iPhone, Samsung Galaxy Smartphone, Apple Pal Airtags, Airpods, Ring Doorbells and Food Thermometers. In total, there are more than 60,000 items eligible for drone delivery, it takes 60 minutes or more when you order.
Of course, the biggest warning here is that you need to stay in one of the places where you are drone delivery supported. If you do, then when you order a character item, you will see drone delivery as an option, which looks 99 4.99 extra. Your items should be below 5 pounds in total weight, so do not order a hundred items in the hope of drone delivery, it just won’t happen.
If your cart is under that weight, and if you live in a supported field, you will then have to confirm your preferred delivery spot at your address – Amazon says this may be a driveway or yard. Once you set this delivery point, it will be remembered by the system for your next order.
Amazon says the ingredring process “is the result of two years of digital maps in the drone computer with eligible addresses and two years of incorporating digital maps. This allows you to definitely determine how much time it will take to fly and leave the package, so Amazon will provide you with nearby performance delivery time (five minutes).
When it reaches the delivery point, the drone checks that it is in the right place with the right package, and then delivers, but not before making sure it is clear from a pet, car or people.
Unfortunately, drone delivery will not be available in adverse weather conditions (light rain is right, nothing beyond that). If the weather service that uses Amazon determines the weather, the drone will not be available as an option when you give your order.
