AMD has announced the card that has been placed against the NVidia RTX 5060 and 5060 TI. It is called AMD Redeon RX 9060 XT and comes with 8GB or 16GB VRAM – both undercut 5060 TI pricing.
RX 9060 XT is essentially half of RX 9070 XT. It has 32 compute units, 32 ray accelerators and 64 AI accelerators, but it runs a bit more clock – 2,530 MHz game frequency and 3,130 MHz boost frequency. The card has a 25.6 TFLOPS peak single precision calculation. AI functions can take advantage of Int8’s 410 tops or 821 tops of Int4 compute.
As mentioned, the card has a 128-bit bus (up to 320 GB/s), plus 8GB or 16GB GDDR6 with 32 MB of infinite cache. Again, it is half of what the 9070 XT has. But this card uses half power – the TBP is 150W for the 8GB model and a little higher at 160 W for the 16GB model.
Raden RX 9060 XT is a RDNA4 card that is fully support for FSR4 upscelling, which helps with the support of FP8 acceleration. The card is fed by the full PCI 5.0 X16 interface, a blessing for people with older motherboards with only old PCI slots. There is also an 8-pin connector for additional power.
The card’s connectivity options include DisplayPort 2.1A and HDMI 2.1B. There is encoded and decode support for H265 and 1 videos.
Note that the cards depicted above are only 3D render-AMD will not release its own-branded 9060 XT cards. Instead, they will come from partners, including Acer, Effect, Asus, Gigabytes, PowerCaller, Safire, Westmer, XFX and Yeston later this year.
AMD Redeon RX 9060 XT 8GB has an MSRP of $ 300, 16GB model $ 350. For comparison, 8GB RTX 5060 TI from NVIDIA is $ 380 MSRP and 16GB is $ 430. Non-ti 5060 with 8GB VRAM is $ 300.
