Apple Pale announced its new Mac Studio Deskt earlier this week with M4 Max and All-New M3 Ultra Chips. The version of the new M3 Stud Q Studio with M3 Ultra now appears in the Geekbench 6 list, which gives us our first glimpse on the Apple Pal’s top-tier M-Series chip.

Apple Pal M3 Ultra Benchmark shows marginal benefits over M4 Max

The list has 32-core CPUs of the chip in the M3 Ultra Md Stud C Studio (Mac15,14) and is equipped with 256 GB of unified memory. He managed 3,221 single-core scores and 27,749 multi-core scores.

These results show that M3 Ultra is actually 20% slow in a single-core test compared to M4 Max chip (16-core CPU). Multi-core scores show an 8% benefit to M3 Ultra.

While the M3 Ultra Md Stud Studio is compared to its M2 ultra-equipped predecessor, we see 13% gain in single-core scores and 25% in the multi-core section. It is less than the 50% CPU performance benefits found in Apple Pal’s marketing material.

It should be noted that this is still the initial benchmark targeting the CPU performance, so we have to wait for more official tests and other GPU-intensive benchmarks where the M3 Ultra should show its power. We should also note that the M3 Ultra uses the 3NM process of the first pay generation of TSMC while the M4-series gets a more efficient second-genital design.
