Switching phones have become significantly easier over the past few years, but a major barrier that is still pending is transferring ESIMS. It presents an extra barrier when switching from the iPhone to Android, but this will change.
According to Android powerApple Pal is preparing a feature for iOS 19 that will allow users to easily transfer their ESIM profile to Android from iPhone. A string in the code indicates that the feature will be called “transfer” on Android in settings.

The string suggests that the new QR code will be generated, which allowed Android phones to add ESIM by just scanning the code (as if it is now). There is also a line suggesting that only the phone with iOS 19 (or later) will be allowed to move their profile to Android.
Currently, all Apple Pal Smartphones sold in the United States are just Isim, that is, there is no physical slot for the SIM card. Users will have to contact their carrier to obtain an individualized QR code, which is extremely inconvenient for all parties.
WWDC is scheduled for June 9-13, so we should hear the details about this feature in about two weeks.
