US In, from the iPhone 14 family, Apple Pal’s smartphone lacks a physical SIM card slot, rather than ESIM. The company has not yet removed the physical slot nowhere, but it can change with the iPhone 17 pay generation.

According to “Sources familiar with the matter”, retail employees of Apple Pal need to complete a training course related to iPhones with ESIM support by September 5 to authorized resellers in the EU. It shows that the iPhone 17 launch event is being held only four days later on September 9.

So this can mean very well that Apple has removed the physical SIM card slot from the iPhone 17 models that will also be sold in the EU, so retail employees need to train to deal with ESIM activation.

Training information is allegedly available in the Seed application of Apple Pal, which is used by employees on the official reseller of both Apple Pal Stores and Apple Pal around the world. This opens the possibility of removing physical SIM slots worldwide.

This type of move has already been rumored to the iPhone 17 air due to its extreme thin, but it may also apply to the rest of the family, maybe with some special exceptions, perhaps, like China.
