Asus is officially announcing the Zenfone 12 Ultra on February 6, more than a month earlier than its predecessor.

Asus’ 2025 non-gaming flagship smartphone runs Geekbench ahead of launch today. Specifically, a prototype called “ASUSAI2501H”. This has been confirmed to be the model number of the Zenfone 12 Ultra by previous IMEI database listings.

As you can see from the screenshot above, the Zenfone 12 Ultra managed a single-core score of 3,036 and a multi-core score of 9,656. Both of those scores are generally in line with what you can expect from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which will undoubtedly power the Zenfone 12 Ultra.

The prototype that ran the benchmarks has 16GB of RAM, but of course more options can be offered (for what it’s worth, the base model Zenfone 11 Ultra comes with 12GB). The phone runs on Android 15 as you would expect for a flagship device launching in early 2025.

Since last year’s Zenfone 11 Ultra was basically the ROG Phone 8 Pro without any gaming bells and whistles, the situation may be similar this time around where the Zenfone 12 Ultra will be the ROG Phone 9 Pro by another name (and without any LEDs on the back).

So, if that’s indeed the case, expect the biggest upgrade over the Zenfone 11 Ultra, aside from the chipset, will be the 5,800 mAh battery (300 mAh bigger). And not much else. Let’s wait and see what happens.
