Apple Pal was ranked second with an estimated 7.6 million shipments and 16% market share. Huawei came in third place with 7.1 million shipments and 15% market share, due to the strong demand for its WHCH GT and WHC Fit Series devices.

Samsung sent 9.9 million warables, gaining 11% market share attributed to solid growth in emerging markets. Garmin kicked out the top five with his 1.8 million shipments.
Canalis also conducted customer studies in Europe on the factors considered by users when purchasing a smartwatch. Price and battery life were the two most important factors surprisingly for consumers. Health-tracking features, brand name and design were other major factors for choosing smart wearable. Interestingly, the features of the game were less important in critical factors.
Looking forward, the canalis predicts that ecosystem integration and post -buying services will be the leading area of competition in the wearable market. Subscription-based models will be key to driving user engagement and brand income.
