Google unveiled Pixel 9A this week, but it won’t come out until April. The mid-ranger will start at £ 500 for a 128GB storage unit. This is a good chance to explore the mid-range segment and see what phones are available around the £ 500 mark-we’ll look a little up and down a little.

This week, the Samsung Galaxy in Europe chooses the A56, A36 and 26 hit stores and other markets. The Galaxy A56 is the Exynos 1580, which has a 5,000 mAh battery with AMD RDNA 3 graphics, plus 45W fast charging – this is what Samsung uses for its flagships. S. Software Fatware Support is at the nearest flagship level with 6 OS updates.

There is no discount, but Amazon is bundling the phone with some freebies: a Galaxy Fit 3, 45W charger (not one in B BOX) and silicone case. Together, this is worth 8 138.98.

The Samsung Galaxy A36 comes with the same freebies. It costs £ 100 less than A56 and here is what you lose. Chipset, Snapdragon 6 General 3, is slow and Storage 3.1 is UFS 2.2 instead of 3.1, which further reduces performance. Also, the body is plastic instead of aluminum and the ultra-wide camera is knocked down at 8MP (12MP). Saving £ 100 is good, but some of these downgrades hit hard.

Going £ 100 ahead of the price ladder, we get the Galaxy A26. Note that you don’t get freebies with this. The A26 is the Exynos 1380, a chipset used in last year’s A35. You also lose 45W charging for 25W batteries and 50MP main camera has a small sensor, but OIS is still available. You get a microSD slot, but not a 3.5mm jack.

Again, Pixel 9 starts at £ 500. Its predecessor, Pixel 8 is currently £ 150 cheap. The old tensor G3 does not have the best reputation, especially its modem. .1.1 “Display is also a little small (vs. 6.3” 9A) and it is not so bright. There are some other small differences such as IP 67 vs. IP 68, 18W Wired Charging vs 23W and more. The main camera is different with large 64MP1/1.73 “sensor vs. A48 MP1/2.0. However, the chipset here is the main concern.

Google Pixel 8A

Going up to £ 150 instead of downs brings us to Pixel 9. Tensor G4 was beating the Galaxy A56 Exynos 1580, even in terms of influence – not unpredictable, the price of A56 is the same as Pixel 9A. However, both will receive 7 OS updates. Google phones also have a better ultra-wide camera (48MP v. 12MP), while the Galaxy has fast charging (45W vs. 23W), but it is only wired.

The Apple Pal iPhone 16E is £ 600, which makes it a Priest Budget model. 6.1 “With a display, it’s smaller than the pixel 9A, but the Apple Pal A18 chipset is available on the mobile thanks to the mobile. Unfortunately, the only 48MP camera on the back is a distant past throobe.

Anyone is under the phone (3A) £ 400, even if you get a 12/256GB model. Snapdragon 7S General 3 Galaxy is faster than 6 General 3 within A36, but Pixel 9A is behind Tancer G4. The IP64 rating is also the lowest in three. However, this combines 50MP main camera with 50MP2X (50mm) telephoto lens and 8MP ultra-wide. The charge for a 5,000 mAh battery is only wired, but it is properly faster at 50 W. There is nothing committed to only 3 OS updates, which is not much, especially considering that Android 16 is a few months away.

NO PHONE (3A)

You can try a flip foldable form factor with Motorola Razor 50. It costs £ 600, but you get £ 40 at checkout and Prime students can harden it at a price of £ 35 with about Pixel 9A. And keep in mind that the razor has 256 GB storage, which closes the price distance.
