MediaTech has announced a new chipset, dementia 9400E in the company’s flagship dimensity family. Sits below 9400E 9400 and 9400+ models, and with minor changes last year is essentially 9300+ rebranded.
The Dementian 9400E has all the major core designs of the company, including 1x 3.4GHz Cortex-X4, 3X 2.85GHz Cortex-X4, and 4x 2.0GHz Cortex-A720 CPU Coro, which is 9300+. There are also 8 MB L3 cache and 10 MB SLC. The chip supports 8533MHz LPDDR 5X memory, which is a drop of 9600 MHz supported by 9300+. There is also UFS 4 + MCQ storage support. 9400E Hardware uses the same 12-G720 mc12 GPU as much as 9300+ with accelerated ray-tracing support.
Most media and connectivity features remain the same between two chips. However, there is a faster 7.3 Gbps Wi-Fi Peak data rate in 9400E compared to 6.5 Gbps at 9400E. There is also a fast Bluetooth 6.0 with a dual Bluetooth engine, and MediaTech claims that its visual line is 5 km. There is a connection range. The 9400E also supports the latest MediaTek neuropilot SDK, enabling modern AI techniques, including multi-modality (LMM), large vision models (LVM), and additional language models (SLM/LLM) from the Global AI ecosystem.
On the gaming front, the 9400E Meditech supports hyperbiangin and MediaTek adaptive gaming technology as 9300+ for improved performance and lower power consumption, but also adds MediaTek frame rate converter, which claims to reduce power consumption by 40% without being able to specify.
You can expect to see this chip relatively shortly. Sister Brands OnePlus and Realm have announced support for the chipset, including the chip in its upcoming OnePlus ACE 5 Racing Edition for China, including a chip shown in its Realm GT7 smartphone. Both devices are expected to launch this month.
