Apple Pal has been diversifying its iPhone assembly over the past few years to reduce its dependence on China as the main production center. India is one of the main beneficiaries of this step, and a new report Economic time Foxconn is planning to double its iPhone assembly in the country.
The report suggests that Foxconn will collect 25-30 million iPhones in India by the end of this year. Based on the estimates provided by an indefinite source, Foxconn assembled about 12 million iPhones in India last year, meaning that the 2025 figures would be more than double the production.
The key to Foxconn is its new feature in Bengaluru, which, when expired, will be the second largest iPhone assembly plant in the contract manufacturer’s portfolio. The new report suggests that Foxconn has already set the trial iPhone production in the last few months. Both Apple Pal and Foxconn have refused to comment on this development.
