When all the eyes were on the new iOS 26, Google announced that the final release of Android 16 will come out later today. You mind, this does not mean “final” like “final”, it is the end of the beta period.
This is just for supported pixel phones (pixel 6-series and new). They need to run Android 15 or Android 16 beta. Other manufacturers should be ready soon, though they have followed Google with their own beta light.

Note that if you are running Android 16 QPR1 beta 1, you will not receive the Android 16 final as an over-the-air update. The QPR is a quarterly release and is expected in the fall – it will give the main UI overall known as the update material 3 meaningful. QPR is a different update track and is currently at Beta 1.1.
