Chinese smartphone manufacturers have recently begun to take a lot of care about the eye health of their customers, consistently resorting to the third-party “Low Blue Light” certificates as well as the rates of PWM dimming. Google? Not so. Not at all, really.

But it may change later this year. According to a new report, the company is finally planning to do something about its low PWM dimming rate “late this year”, which clearly indicates that the Pixel 10 series will be the first in Google’s history with high PWM deming.

If you are unaware, most OLED screens do not really reduce the brightness, but reduce the brightness by introducing the flicker (“pulse width modulation” aka PWM). Rate per second, some people have a headache. So in this context, the higher is better and hopefully Google will introduce a very rate rates to please PWM Diming to the sensitive people.

Approved, this is not the largest display upgrade ever, but it will be extremely useful for those affected by the company’s previous devices, so it is one step ahead for the Pixel 10 series.
