Google Pixel 9 started a few months ago and the Google Pixel 9 was hit by shelves almost a year ago, a common confusion ises bothered-should you choose a new mid-range model or stick to last year’s main? It is a valid question, especially given their similar prices and shared DNAs.

In Europe, the price of Pixel 9 is about € 100 more than 9A, while the U.S. In, the distance increases to $ 150. On paper, two phones have many common – similar displays, matching chipsets and many in comparative camera setups. But look a little closer, and a few key differences come out. For some, they may not be dealbreakers. For others, however, additional features of Pixel 9 can justify the extra cost. So let’s take a closer look.

For beginners, you can compare the full speck sheets or continue directly with the assessment of our editor In the following text.

Size comparison

Despite the two pixels sharing the same screen diagonal, 9 has significantly larger dimensions, but underweight. There are several reasons for that.

Google Pixel 9A vs Google Pixel 9

First, the pixel 9 is more compact because it has a thin bezel around the screen. 9 is also a fuck for a budget phone in 2025. It makes a 9A ler nausea and wide. It is also a little G ER, which may be due to a large battery.

For weight gain, we can thanks to the choice of that material. Pixel 9 includes a gorilla glass developed 2 by the aluminum frame, while the 9A build includes anonymous gorilla glass sheet and plastic back, which is lighter.

Overall, Pixel 9 is a better choice given by the slimmer bezels, nice build materials and more compact parameters.

Comparison

On paper, both devices should have the same display with the same display. Both are 6.3-inch OLED with the same announced maximum brightness. However, according to our tests, the Pixel 9 has a slightly maximum brightness (about 1,900 NIT) than the Pixel 9 (a little from 2,200 NITs).

Both phones rarely reach the maximum level of brightness, but the difference between the two can be seen as a sign that the phone uses different panels.

Other than that, there is no facility inequality between the two – both phones support the basic HDR 10+ video standard and 120 Hz refresh rate.

B Battery Terry Life

Both handsets share the same chipset and the same display, but Pixel 9A has the benefit of a large battery of 00,3 mAh, as opposed to 4,700 mAh-powered vanilla pixel 9. Nevertheless, it seems that a large battery does not translate to real battery life.

Pixel 9 scores trivial on almost all tests, pushed Score active use 9 A little more than a.

We can only guess what the cause can be and as we note in our pixel 9A review, it can be much better power Hungry display panel.

Preaching

In theory, the pixel 9 should be a little faster than the pixel 9A, seeing a slight difference in the charging rate – 23 W vs. 27 W regular 9 in favor of 9. However, it was not completely true in our real life test.

Pixel 9 actually charged a little faster in the first 15 to 30 minutes of the charging cycle, but completed the full charge in 85 minutes, while the Pixel 9 took 101 minutes.

Notably, Pixel 9 also has a fast wireless charging instead of 9A 7.5W charging power – 15 W (with pixel stand, otherwise 12 W).

Chair

About speakers, we can easily say that Pixel 9 is a clear winner here. Sure, the pixel 9 speakers are loud, but the tuning of 9A is very nice. The bass is more prominent, the track does not look like pixel 9, and the overall sound is very hot and perfect.

Operation

Both handsets depend on the only in-house Google Tensor G4SOC to debut with the Pixel 9 series last year. Although 9 is more affordable, it still shakes the same “flagship” chipset.

Memory configurations are the same, but not the same. Both handsets offer only 128 GB or 256 GB storage, but Vanilla Pixel 9 gives you 12 GB of RAM, while 9 settles for 8GB.

As expected, there is no difference in the operation. The small differences you see in the benchmark results are good within the numerical error.

Camera comparison

Camera hardware is the main difference between the two handsets. The smaller 48MP main sensor and 13MP ultravide cameras are more affordable for pixel 9A, while the standard pixel 9 also has a physically large 50MP main sensor and a large 48MP ultravide unit.

Selfie hardware is also different. 9 receives a 13MP shooter, while Pixel offers a 9 10.5MP camera, with a sensor size of 13MP selfie on 9A.

The quality of the image

At first glance, two ultravide cameras get similar photos nearby, but if you look closely, you will see that 48MP ultravide units render very intense objects on Pixel 9. It is due to the ability of Tofocus. However, the objects bugs in the distance are rendered evenly.

Once again, Pixel 9’s main Camera Marra provides slightly pleasant rendering with punchier colors and TAD sharp objects. You can find a big difference in 2X zoom mode, where the larger sensor shows the obvious benefit.

The distance is wide as the light drops. Ultravide and main cameras of pixel 9 produce cleaner and intense images with a wide dynamic range. Differences for most people will probably be the exporter, but it is worth noting.

Videos are sharp, somewhat cleaner and significantly bright at night at Pixel 9.

Judgment

Naturally, the pixel 9 tops in most aspects. It offers a nice camera experience, brighter display, more premium design, and negligible battery life and charging. Perhaps the price difference will make sense for most people, especially Europe’s customers, where the distance is only € 100.

On the contrary, if you don’t mind a thick bezel, Pixel 9 delivers the same user experience mostly. The display is still the brightest in the city, the performance is similar, and the camera hardware is not so far. Stereo speakers are better at 9A. So, if you consider yourself a casual everyday user, then save a few bucks and go for Pixel 9A.
