During his introduction yesterday, when he announced the Pixel VCH 4 and Pixel Buds 2A, Pixel 10 family, Google slipped into the image of an unlealed smart home speaker. Today a new leak gives us some details about it.
First, it is real, it is in development, and it will start at some point in the future. It will be surprised by Gemini. It will be offered bright red, light green, black and white (or in porcelain in Google Parlons – light green jade can be branded and black obseridian if Google sticks with names used for the past few years).
The speaker will be released at the bottom, and this will come forward when you talk to Gemini. You will find Gemini’s live experience, but of course it will only be limited to speech – on your phone you can also use the camera to show it things.
The speaker will apparently launch for the AI assistant with some new natural voice voices, and you will be able to look for media and music and run it. You can also set automation by the speaker, and he will be able to find unusual sounds such as glass braking or smoking alarm and send you alerts to your phone when he does.
Google will combine the speaker (or, possibly, multiple units) with a Google TV streamer to spread the TV sound throughout the house. In the end, it will also support the Matter, IOT protocol. Unfortunately it is unclear when the speaker will start, but we will tell you when we find out more about it.
