Looking at the specs, you might be wondering what to expect from OnePlus’ new duo in terms of software update support. Fortunately, the company has now disclosed this information.
Both the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R will receive four major Android updates, ending their lives running on Android 19. Additionally, both phones will also receive six years of security updates, so you’re good until 2031 on that front.
This update promise doesn’t match what Google and Samsung are doing for their respective flagship devices, but OnePlus explained about a year ago that according to its data most users tend to upgrade their phones within four years. So, we read between the lines, it wouldn’t make financial sense to go beyond that with a major upgrade, especially seeing how they can introduce performance issues.
