Samsung has shared a blog post with details of some choices behind the Galaxy S 25 Ultra design and how it has changed compared to the previous repetitions of its flagship. In addition, he posted a “guided demo” video of the S2 Ultra starring “Guide Demo”.
This is an unsubsized box Xing post, so it starts with the packaging. This year was changed to display the device’s silhouette than the more actual portrayal shown on the previous bin.
The B BOX is made from 100% recycled paper as before and its content is quite simple: S2 Ultra itself, the new Bluetooth-low S Pen, USB C-to-C cable, SIM ejector and a brief manual.
Ultra models are mostly available in brown and the 2025 model is not an exception. In addition to the four widely available colors, there are three which are specific to Samsung.com. Here they are for comparison to side.
The previous ultra had a rectangular design with sharp corners – it looked cool but not especially ergonomics. This year Samsung round the corners, but it also changes the profile of the sides – instead of round, they are now flat. This S22 gives the three a more consistent look (vanilla and plus models already have rounded corners and flat sides).
Another change in the design is that Samsung managed to thin the bezel by 0.2 mm, so they now measure only 1.32 mm. This allowed the company to bump the screen diagonal by 0.1 “(6.9”). The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Armor 2, a glass ceramic material that is more drop resistant than the previous version. And it has an anti-reflective feature that is specific to ultra.
It was not just angles, the previous ultra was fairly heavy and thick. The Galaxy S 25 Ultra loses 14g weight and slims below 0.4 mm compared to its predecessor. It weighs 218g and measures 8.2 mm thick.
Then there are Camera Mera rings that became notorious. Samsung says that going for a black trim instead of silver allow the lens to be better mixed, while the ga ER camera rings improve the durability.
