OnePlus Open Product Manager, Vale G, confirmed that OnePlus would put its foldable plans on a break and will not launch Open 2 this year. According to the post, OnePlus is “Return to Novelty”, which also lives in it. This does not mean that the brand foldables are leaving the market but this year is taking a break from starting new foldables.

On the OnePlus, our main strength and passion are set to set up a new benchmark and the position in all product categories. With that in mind, we have carefully considered the time and our next steps in foldable devices, and we have decided not to publish foldable this year.

While this can be surprising, we believe that this is the right approach to us at this time.
