No, there is no typo in the title – we mean Samsung has begun testing an UI 8 Based on Android 16. And yes, it is surprisingly ironic, because an update on an UI 7 based on Android 15 is still not out, even with several months of tests. It will eventually start to roll next month, and then the waiting game will start very soon, as Google aims to release Android 16 in June.
We naturally hope that Samsung will be fast together with this update, but of course there is no guarantee. The fact that the Korean company is already testing an UI 8 may seem like a good sign, but we will not only make any stake based on this information.

The first one UI 8 build for the Galaxy S25 series was seen on Samsung’s firmware servers today, and the good news is that the company has begun development two months ago than usual. Then again Android can come out earlier than 16 years. Perhaps there is a chance that Samsung will introduce an UI 8 update by the end of the year at this rate. We will tell you when we know more.
