Late this year, Samsung will introduce its thin flagship – Galaxy S22 Edge. But it’s not the only thin and light phone on the 2025 roster, the Samsung Galaxy M56 is a slimmest phone in its segment, according to the company.
The Galaxy M56 is 30% thin than its predecessor
In concrete numbers, M56 measures 7.2 mm thick and weighs 180 grams. For comparison, the A is 56 7.4 mm and 198g, the M55 is 7.8 mm and 180g. All three phones have 5,000 mAh batteries and 6.7 “screens.
Talking about the screen, it measures 6.74 and is a Super AMOLED+ panel that is 33% bright and its predecessor, 36% slimmer bezels compared to the M55 screen. The 1080P+ panel has a 120 Hz refresh rate.

The Galaxy M56 is powered by last year’s Exynos 1480. While the current Exynos is not as fast as 1580 (found within A56), 1480 still has 4NM chip with AMD RDNA2 graphics and Cortex-A78/A55 CPU cores. Also, there is 33% larger steam chamber than the M55 to help keep it cool.
The chip is connected to 8GB RAM (LPDDR 5X) and 128 GB storage (UFS 3.1). There is no word on the microSD slot, but the device has two SIM slots and sub -6 GHz 5G (bands: 1, 3, 5, 8, 28, 40, 41, 78). Other connectivity options include USB 2.0 Type-C, Wi-Fi 6 (AX) and Bluetooth 5.3. There is no NFC.
The camera system has 50MP main with F/1.8 OIS-enabled lens and 4K @ 30 FPS video recording. Video recording supports 10-bit HDR mode. There is no telephoto lens, instead the main camera has an in-sensor 2x zoom.

There are 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro-amm on the back. The front is a 12MP selfie camera (f/2.2 FF lens). Galaxy AI features are available to help you remove photos (to edit instructions), unwanted OBJECTS BUJECTS (OBJECT BUJECT ERASER) or to help them turn them into clip art (image clipper).
As mentioned above, the battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh with 45W charging like its predecessor.
There is no dust or water resistance rating, but Samsung made the M56 harder than the M55. It is the name-brand glass in the front and back, with the gorilla glass developed+, with 4x, with an anonymous glass scratch resistance of the old model. Also, he tested the phone for 2M fall endurance.

The Samsung Galaxy M56 is built in India and will receive Software Fatware support by the end of 2030 (it’s 6 OS updates and 6 years security patches). It will soon be available in light green and black.
