Here is a clear case ‘too much to be too productive to look at the speck sheets’, especially when we are talking about 0.1 mm differences. See, on paper, the Honor Magic V5 (called the Ivory White) in a special colorway is announced to be 8.8 mm thick when folded by the brand. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the other hand, is 8.9 mm thick when folded.
So here is a clear winner, right? The clear “thinnest book in the world – foldable ‘, as it was. Well, not as fast. Put both sides and try to adjust something from it, as the famous Chinese Liquor ice universe does in the following video, and the roles are reversed, as you can see.
There is no accurate measurement tool, but we can still have a strict conclusion: Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the world’s thinest folding mobile phone.

So what does it give? Well, it’s about the pre-low screen protector on the Magic V5, which is not part of the official thickness measure, but when you buy the phone, well, pre-low, while Samsung does not have such a parsley.
This just goes to show how irrelevant the difference of 0.1 mm thickness is in real life, despite the brands loving brands to claim things like “thin of the world” and “the world’s lightest”. So please keep this in mind – you will not feel 0.1 mm and you will not feel 1G in real life, thus, making your choice to buy a device based on claims such as “thinner of the world” and “lighter of the world”, if you want to wear such a (sometimes very short -term) crown.
In this day and age, many foldables are already thin enough and very comfortable to use even when folded, so we advise you to choose your other features based on the other features you have. What do you think, though? Are these all very hype or there are minute differences like this for you? Tell us in the comments.
