You probably connect cinemas to a projector, but there are other Samsung ideas – at the cinemacon, the largest and most important gathering of movie theater owners, the company showed its onyx cinema LED screens.

These come in different sizes: 5th, 10th, 14th and 20th (16 feet, 33 feet, 46 feet and 66 feet). And there are additional scaling options for matching the needs of different movie theaters.

The display offers the top brightness of 300 NITS (86.7 FL), six times brighter than the standard (48 NITS/14FL). Displays video supports up to 4K 120 Hz. Note that the display is done together with many panels like this, which measures 10 meters (in terms of TV, it is 455 “). For 3D movies, Samsung claims that onyx reduces flickering which is sometimes seen with projector systems.

Theater owners watched the screening of several films on Samsung onyx, including Inside Out 2 and Pixer -coming Ilio (2025). “Color and vibrancy are very rich. On the onyx display, there are details of the letters I have not seen on the screen before,” Director of Creative Film Services and International Production at Synthia Lusk, Pixer Studio.
