Samsung started a rollout of a UI 8 stable update earlier this week, but it has been working on a UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S26 series for the past few months. A UI 8.5 firmware for Galaxy S25 Ultra was also recently spotted on Samsung’s server, and now we hear that a UI 8.5 firmware that consists of Round Nine Rounds that confirms a UI 9.0 will be the next main version of the UI.

While an UI 8 and under-development are based on one UI 8.5 Android 16, a UI 9.0 will be based on potential Android 17. And we know that it is too early to say anything about the rollout of a UI 9.0, it will debut with next year’s Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Folding Smartphy NS.
