The rumor outside Japan yesterday told us that Sony would announce the Xperia 1 VII on May 15, and today the company has finally come out and shared the actual official unveiling date.
It’s two days before the rumor: May 13. You can see, the incident will take place at 11am, Japan, which is 4am in the morning, at 4am in London, and in India at 7:30 am. Launching will be livestream on Sony’s YouTube channel, and we will embed the flow on the day of the event for the pleasure of your viewing.

According to past leaks and rumors, Xperia 1 VII looks similar to its predecessor, but it is a little short, wide and ga ER, while expected to keep the same 6.5 inch screen size.
It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset, which will be attached to 12 GB RAM. It will run Android 15 from a day, but if you are not in Japan the ‘first day’ could be too far away – yesterday’s rumor told us that the phone would be available on launch day in Japan, but it will only happen in international markets in July. Hopefully it was inaccurate as the actual unveiling date, but we have to wait and see.
