Sony Xperia 1 VII, released with Android 15 a few months ago, is receiving Android 16 update.
The screenshot of the update posted on the reddit reveals that the update firmware version comes with 71.1.A.2.68 and the download of about 1.13GB for the model designation XQ-FS54 EU for Xperia 1 VII.

The Screenshot does not include the Changelog of Android 16 update, which says a reddeter says that the Android Security Patch Level on smartphone is left after installing an update in August Gust 2025.
Moreover, multiple redductors have reported that the Android 16 on Sony Xperia 1 VII experiences the same as Android 15, except for the Settings app, which looks different.
Sony Xperia 1 VII is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite SOC, has 12 GB RAM and storage up to 512GB, and comes with the promise of four Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
