Sony’s Xperia 1 V received its update to Android 15 a few days ago, and today the company has started rolling out the same update to the Xperia 5 V as well.
There are already reports on Reddit from people who have received the update notification. It is a 1GB download and once you install it you will be on software version 67.2.A.2.41.
The update brings with it the private space. This allows you to keep the app in a separate place in the app drawer, behind a lock.
Additionally, there’s a color contrast setting for the home screen, a new way to change the clock displayed on the lock screen, and Side Sense gets a new dashboard function that lets you quickly change or check the status of your most-used settings.
The quick settings panel and notification panel have been redesigned, and you can take screenshots from the quick settings. There are also changes to how pop-up windows work, as well as a few other minor tweaks – you can read about them all at the source linked below.

As always, we expect the rollout to be staggered and thus it will probably take a few days, not weeks, for it to reach all Xperia 5 V units in the wild.
