Android’s long -awaited original desk .P mode is finally coming to Android 16, and Google gave a glimpse during its I/O 2025 developer Kinot. It was co-developed with Samsung-Samsung’s experience with the DEX, the first logical move, which first started on the Galaxy S8 series in 2017. Android’s Native Desk .P mode looks similar to Chrome OS with a row of pinned applications in the bottom taskbar. We can see some Google’s first-party applications such as Gmail, Chrome, YouTube and Google photos.

It will feature “Advanced Windowing capabilities” and Google has also confirmed that adaptive applications will automatically desk .P mode, Android Automotive and Android XR.
