So far, none of the Samsung Galaxy A series devices have supported 45W wired charging. The best any of them could do was 25W. That’s set to change later this year when the Galaxy A56 launches with support for 45W top-ups – this was already announced in November.

Today we have some exciting news for those who have been waiting for the upcoming Galaxy A36 instead – this too will support 45W wired charging. This was revealed today by its IECEE certification, which it received alongside the Galaxy A56.

Both devices will launch Android 15 running One UI 7 on top, which means they won’t arrive before February (as the Galaxy S25 handset will be the first to land with the new software).

The Galaxy A56 will use Samsung’s Exynos 1580 SoC, while the A36 will go with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 instead.
