Qualcomm announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire a British chip design company Alfavave Semi, which is priced at 4 2.4 billion. The deal will play a key role in the growth of Qualcomm in the data center market while its Orion Mobile CPU and SHTCON will complement NPU development.
Alfavave also contains key IPs in custom silicone chips, AI and connectivity products. It also features “industry leading high-speed connectivity solutions” for autonomous vehicles and solid-state storage.

Alfavaev was founded in 2017. By 2023, it had more than 829 employees and is forecast to reach the $ 39 billion address market by 2027. The Qualcomm Acquisition deal will now have to pass the approval of the UK regulator and if all goes well, it should be completed in Q1, 2026.
