vivo unveiled the S30 and S30 Pro Mini in May, and if you know anything about Chinese smartphone makers, you know they hate the number 4, thanks to the tetraphobia that prevails in China. So it won’t surprise you to know that there will be no S40 series, but that Vivo is already working on the S50 family. Some details regarding this have been released today.
The S50 Pro Mini will keep the same display size as its predecessor – 6.31. On the other hand, the S50’s screen will go from 6.67″ to 6.59″ of the S30. Both new phones have “1.5K” resolution and flat panels.

The S50 has a metal frame and a flagship-level periscope telephoto camera, while the S50 Pro Mini is rumored to get all-round “flagship hardware”, although no further information is available at the moment.
According to previous leaks, the S50 Pro Mini will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 SoC, and will have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, as well as three rear cameras with periscope telephoto. The S50 series is expected to go official in China next month, competing with Oppo’s Reno15 series and Honor 500 devices.
