Vivo has launched a teaser campaign for its upcoming X fold 5, which is scheduled to unveil on July 10, according to the latest rumor. The phone will be proud of unprecedented dust and water resistance ratings for foldable.
We are talking about IP5X Dust Resistance, which defeats the triplet of Samsung’s IP4X, as well as water resistance ratings: IPX8, IPX9, and IPX 9+. The IP5X ie the phone will not completely prevent dust entry, but “it should not be entered enough to interfere with safe operation”, according to the IP code definitions.

Regarding IPX 9+, Vivo says that you will fold and reveal X fold 5 in 1 m1000 times in water, which is definitely impressive, though we are not sure what the case of use will be in the real world.
After all, no other foldable has yet received an IPX 9 certificate, which is about protection from water jets (IPX8 is about immersion in water).
The X Fold 5 has also taught to be foldable of a lighter book-style so far, and you can see from a glimpse of the above shot.
