Well, here’s a surprise – last week’s poll revealed which is the most liked model in the Redmi Note 14 series and it’s not the Pro+ with its fancy curved display and 200MP camera. No, he came second.

The most popular of the series is actually the vanilla Redmi Note 14 5G. Yes, especially the 5G model – while some like the Redmi Note 14 4G, both it and the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G have proven far less popular than their 5G siblings. Perhaps this is a sign for Xiaomi to simplify the product line and offer only 5G phones going forward.

Looking at the series as a whole, people were disappointed by the relative lack of upgrades in the Redmi Note 13 series. “The price is high” was a common refrain in the comments section. Also, it may have the same name as the Redmi Note 14 series sold in India and China, but it lacks some new features like the Si/C battery.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+, which is only available in 5G form, came in second – not far behind the vanilla Note 14, but not much ahead of the regular Pro either. The Pro+ poll results show a lot of uncertainty on this model, much higher than the other two.

Speaking of which, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G ranks third. If you want to know more about the phone we have already published our review including a video review. Again, the 4G model received much less attention than its 5G sibling – while there are savings to be made by buying a 4G phone, Xiaomi should really consider ditching the “either/or” strategy, especially on the Pro models.

As we noted in our review, the Note 14 Pro pairs an upgrade (enough water resistance to survive a dip) with a downgrade (no headphone jack), so perhaps it would be better for Xiaomi to slow down the rate of Note-series launches and “save Up” upgrade to a major release once a year.

We have multiple units for review: the Redmi Note 14 4G and 5G, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G and even the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, so expect in-depth reports soon.
