The global smartphone market is developing at a healthy pace – it was up 10.5% in Q1 this year compared to the same period last year. In more concrete numbers, 45.6 million units were sent in the first three months of 2025, of which 34.8 million were smartphones, the other was 10.8 million smart bands.

They are designed to be the perfect companion on your smartphone-if you want to trust marketing, be a partner. There are many special categories that can meet different requirements. In some cases the phone is capable of replacing the phone, the others only serve as a sports/health tracker.

Then again, your smartphone already has a clock and a step counter on it, which is enough for some. Why spend extra money and get an extra problem of another device that requires charging?
Charging is a pain point for verbal. Less competent devices still provide plenty of functionality and can last up to a week – some can go up to a month.
