While the smartphone has been converted to a very similar formula, there are different types of smart watch/band/ring/etc. Devices there. And the results of last week’s voting are very interesting.
Most of our readers who use smart warebell contain Apple Pal Watch. We are sure that most of our readers have Android phones, but apparently, they do not use smart wearable.
On that side, the wear OS is surprisingly low – about half the popularity of Apple Pal’s Watch Watch cheat watches. Another advanced smartwatch platform (eg Huawei) is more popular than the platform that is mainly supported by Google and Samsung.
Here is another result we don’t expect – the smart band is more popular than the basic smartwatch. Unlike their wear OS/VCH WHCH OS counterparts, basic smartwatch offers the same functionality as smart bands.
Their only real benefit is aesthetics – if you want round and watch on your wrist. Some smart bands offer great battery life despite small batteries and are cheap and small to boot.
Smart rings are a very new category, so they are still a blip on the radar, as expected. It will be interesting to see how it changes over the next few years.
Smart Werable is different from smartphones in other important ways – people are in no hurry to upgrade them. More than half of the voters in the second poll will keep their worn this year.
We have set a relatively short time frame asking about upgrade plans this year. But by reading by comments, it is clear that many use the watches/bands that are 3, 4 or 5 years old. The smartphone upgrade cycle is getting longer, but it is not yet at the level.
Only 7% of voters will buy their first smart warebable this year, indicating that the market is becoming saturated – everyone who wants, is already one. Of course, our audience is more technically sensible than most, so buying in more tech gadgets is not surprising.
