Last week we asked you whether your phone still got an Android 15 update. Many already have, which is encouraging to see, but not all of them.
More than 40% of people who have responded to our polls, they are running Android 15 on their phones – or rather the implementation of Android 15 by the manufacturer. Although almost a third of the voters are still waiting, the first updates started on October (that was for Pixels, of course).
Worryingly, 20% – one of the five voters – not a phone for V15. Expanded Software Fatware Support Windows is a relatively new trend and there are not some old phones outside the update program.
For example, the Galaxy S20 series from 2020 will no longer get updates of any type of security patches. This shows the end of a 5 year support window. Modern Galaxy models will be updated for 6 years (including OS updates, not just security patches) if they are mid-entrangers and 7 years if they are main. Hopefully, this will reduce the number of people with non-upgradable phones in the future-why not continue to use it until hardware still works?
We also asked you how much you care to run the latest OS version. It turns out that you take some care – it’s an option taken by half of voters. Almost the fifth is almost occasionally ready to ignore the delay, but it is clear that timely light is important.
Then there are more tendencies-some just want the latest security patch, others don’t even care about it. However, both groups are clearly in the minority.
We mentioned the above Android seller-specific versions. According to the comments, it can have a big impact on how the OS update is considered value – with some skins, it is a very significant change, with other people you can rarely say.
The effect of this is or not people care for OS updates. Nevertheless, most people want the latest Software Fatware and they do not like to wait – and they will be waiting for Android 16 very soon.
