Flagship Android tablets powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest chipset are a rare occurrence, even though flagship smartphones are upgraded to top-shelf SoCs annually. There aren’t any tablets using the Snapdragon 8 Elite so far, but that could change if a tipster’s new rumor on the X is true.
It claims that Xiaomi is working on a new tablet powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and that the beast will launch later this year.

Unfortunately, there are no more details about the device at this time. However, the use of that very expensive chipset automatically means that the rest of the specs have to be top-notch too – otherwise it just won’t match. So expect a large high-resolution screen, at least 8GB of RAM (but possibly 12GB or even 16GB) and a battery in excess of 10,000 mAh. We’ll let you know when we know more.
