Google has announced that thanks to Gemini, you can now add an event to the Google Calendar directly from Gmail’s email. This will work because Gemini will automatically find “calendar related content” in your emails.
When that happens, the “Add to the calendar” button will appear. Once you click it, the side panel will confirm. This comes to the top of the ability to ask Gemini about content in your Google Calendar, which has been available in Gmail since November.
The new feature is currently available in English and only in Gmail’s web interface. The “Add to Calendar Lander” button will not appear for emails that have already been automatically rected to events like restaurant reservations or flights. The Calendar Lander event created by the new button does not include other guests.
The rollout has begun today and is expected to take it until the end of April until it ends for all accounts. Speaking of accounts, you will find this only if you do not have a Google Workspace Business or Enterprise Account, Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium -D -Or or Google One AI Premium Subscriber.
