Apple released the highly anticipated iOS 18.2 update this week, introducing the second version of its artificial intelligence features (called Apple Intelligence) for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 series. Although many well-known features like ChatGPT integration with Siri, Genmoji, and Visual Intelligence have received a lot of attention, one important aspect of the latest update has slipped by unnoticed.
iOS 18.2 has introduced a great update to Find My, enabling users to share the location of their lost items, which makes it simpler to get assistance in locating them. Users can create a link for their lost item in the Find My app by choosing “Share Item Location” and then sharing the link with friends or authorities. The recipient can easily find the location of the lost item, even if they don’t have an Apple device.
The link will expire on its own after a week or once the item is located. Also, there’s a new “Show Contact Info” feature in the Find My app. When you turn it on, it directs the recipient to a webpage that shows the owner’s contact details, like their phone number and email address.

The iOS 18.2 update is now available for all devices that support iOS 18. Apple Intelligence features will be available only on the latest iPhone 16 series and last year’s iPhone 15 Pro lineup.
